FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know about BeatLeader PP, ranked maps, and how GiveMePP helps you climb the leaderboard.
What is BeatLeader PP?
PP (Performance Points) is BeatLeader's ranking system for Beat Saber. When you play ranked maps, you earn PP based on your accuracy and the map's star difficulty. Your total PP determines your position on the global leaderboard. The system uses a weighted curve — your best score counts for 100% of its PP value, your second best for slightly less, and so on.
How does the PP Optimizer work?
GiveMePP analyzes your BeatLeader profile, looks at your existing scores, and predicts which ranked maps would give you the most PP gain if you played them. It considers your accuracy patterns, the star ratings you perform best at, and the BeatLeader PP weighting curve to find maps where you can realistically improve your total PP.
What is snipe mode?
Snipe mode targets a specific player. Add a rival on the PP Optimizer page (or click Snipe next to anyone in Similar Players) and GiveMePP compares their scores to yours, map by map. Every suggestion then shows the exact accuracy you'd need to pass them, your realistic chance of hitting it, and how much of the total PP gap the play closes — with the most beatable scores highlighted first. You can export the whole hit list as a playlist.
How is the 'chance to pass' percentage calculated?
It's calibrated against real outcomes. GiveMePP compares its accuracy predictions to what players actually scored across thousands of leave-out evaluations, and reads your pass probability off that empirical distribution — so when it says 70%, comparable players in comparable spots really did pass about 70% of the time. When there isn't enough data for your confidence band, it falls back to a conservative estimate and marks the number with a ~ so you know it's approximate.
How is weighted PP calculated on BeatLeader?
BeatLeader uses a weighted system where your scores are sorted by PP value. Your top score counts at 100%, the second at a slightly reduced weight (around 96.5%), the third even less, and so on. This means improving your top scores has a much bigger impact than playing easy maps for small PP amounts.
What modifiers does GiveMePP support?
GiveMePP supports all BeatLeader gameplay modifiers including Super Fast Song (SF), Faster Song (FS), Ghost Notes (GN), Disappearing Arrows (DA), Smaller Notes (SN), No Bombs (NB), No Arrows (NA), No Obstacles (NO), and Pro Mode (PM). Each modifier affects the star rating and PP calculation differently.
How do I use the playlist export?
After getting your recommendations, click the 'Export Playlist' button to download a .bplist file. You can then import this into Beat Saber using a playlist manager mod like PlaylistManager. The playlist contains all the recommended maps so you can practice them in-game.
What is the Similar Players feature?
The Similar Players tool finds other BeatLeader players near your rank who have a similar play style (accuracy, speed, and tech balance). This helps you discover rivals to compete against, find maps that players like you tend to excel at, and set realistic improvement goals.
How accurate are the PP predictions?
GiveMePP uses your historical accuracy data to predict how well you'd perform on recommended maps. The predictions are based on your performance at similar star ratings and account for your Acc/Speed/Tech balance. While no prediction is perfect, the tool provides confidence indicators to help you focus on the most reliable recommendations.
Is GiveMePP free to use?
Yes! GiveMePP is completely free and always will be. It uses the public BeatLeader API to fetch your profile data and calculate recommendations. No account creation is needed — just enter your BeatLeader username or player ID.
How often should I check for new recommendations?
We recommend checking after you've improved on several of your current top scores, or when new ranked maps are added to BeatLeader. The recommendations update in real-time based on your current profile, so they'll always reflect your latest scores.
What's the difference between BeatLeader and ScoreSaber PP?
BeatLeader and ScoreSaber are two separate leaderboard systems for Beat Saber with different PP curves, different ranked map pools, and different ranking criteria. GiveMePP is specifically designed for BeatLeader's PP system and uses BeatLeader's API and ranking data.
